Ah, the memories of the old room. I see some around this board...where are the others?

We sure had great times and I think I hold the record of the most bans...
Plus, probably the only member to call another drunk.

We need to get the "band" back together!

PS...I also enjoyed the Cricket room. But I couldn't share my porn movies and I won't have an ultimatum put to me.

There will be no 'band' reunions I'm afraid.
WCC was a great time, and WinMX was a great program. Unfortunately it became like an old tire that ran over too many nails... you can patch it and patch it again and it will roll, but after awhile it just isn't the same and so you go out and buy a new tire. Or in our case.. you steal a new tire.

And yes, you still hold the lifetime 'achievement' award for the most bans.
You freak.

Let it go. I loved WinMx and had it running 24/7 and was always on during my free time. But, it is horrible now.

Lighten up, Frances. I didnt say it was dead. :? But I have no use for it anymore, there may still be plenty of good users there, but its just not the same as it was, and so we moved on. At one time I was probably MX's biggest supporter and fan-boy. Unfirtunately the lack of meaningful updates and all of the fakes, etc clogging it up it became more of a pain in the ass to use than an enjoyable experience.

Good luck with that, I personally believ that the only true way to fix a lot of problems is for them to release a new version that addresses the faults and bugs, and attempts to correct them.

Great*
I know it't not DEAD YET, but it is to some people on this forum. The more people who leave the WPN the more the cartel's knows they're winning, we need people more using it to stop the cartel's an let 'em know we're not gonna put up with the bully tactics.
I hope they release the next version soon, it's still a beta version  , i heard it fixes some of the bugs & faults with WinMX.

Well, you certainly can't blame people for moving away from something that they dont enjoy anymore or is too buggy to use without 10 patches installed.

You wouldnt hop on a sick horse and yell "Giddy-up!" now would you?

As I stated before, I used to be a huge WinMX booster. If they come out with a new decent version that I can use "out of the box" without modding, patching it, etc then I will be happy to use and promote it once again. As it stands now though, my conscience wont allow me to recommend it to anyone.

As for the 'cartels', I doubt they read this forum, its pretty small. And the are not stupid, they know very well that they are absolutely losing the battle against p2p, thats why thye resort to dirty tricks such as flooding networks with fake file, etc.

No you can't blame them, i've experienced the same frustration as them..connection problem's ,,fake files..ect, but i didn't give up, another great thing about winmx is it gives faster d/l speeds for 56k users then other p2p apps, i've tried other p2p app's an i got slower d/l speeds on them then i do on WinMX.It also has openNap protocol in it too ,so if you having problem finding a file that the cartels are flooding fake files of on the WPN you can always try to find them on OpenNap.
10 patches  :? I've only had to install one patch(KM's patch) with v3.53. that's only cos the cartels are attacking the WPN.

Of course they are losing now but they're gaining more legal right's to sue people & to sue p2p software companys. They're are frustrating people so much that they giving up on trying to download from WinMX or other p2p apps, when they use their dirty tricks to attack the p2p networks.Which is against the law i believe aint it? :? But again they think they're above the law and can get the laws changed whenever they want to.

I'm very confident that another version will be released, it is just really unlikely for a company such as WinMX, which has been around for so long to make their last 'semi-official' release a Beta one and then just leave for good.

I have no doubt that WinMX 3.6 will see the light of day, the only question to ask, is when? I believe it will be by the end of the year :)
