A Little help please

All right, I need some help...

I downloaded 3.53 the other day, and things seemed to be fine...I managed to download a couple of songs I was looking for, but that's changed!

I can establish a connection, I can search for songs, but when I go to download, the song I'm trying to download sits in the transfers area for about a minute and a half, then disconnects! Do I need to set something up, or what?

I warn you, I am very green! I'm on Windows XP, and I'm using the Windows Firewall...that's about all I can tell you! I see a lot of people talking about filtering out the fakes, and I have no clue what you are talking about...Please help!!!!!

Make sure the windows firewall is correctly configured. Look around the forums here for more info on that. Also, if you share your internet connection or you have a router or switch in your system you'll also need to configure that. Full instructions at portforward.com.

I'd be curious to know if this is happeing to ALL songs or just most, and are your uploads that people are getting from you working?

Also.. about the fakes.. are the songs your looking for from this list?

Yeah, the files I'm searching for are on that list...

Will that patch at WinMX Unlimited help, and how to do I install it?

Once again, major greenhorn here! Somebody mentioned properly configuring Windows Firewall...should I just post that as a seperate topic on the forum and see who can help, or do you guys have anyclue how to do it?

what i have learned about fake files, is this..que with the people who have ques already..those are usually the real songs..

if youre have a hard time staying connected to winmx, try using a primary connection..i use it all the time..secondary disconnecte me alot..to change your connection, it's on the page where you can change your name...
